Synchronicities are the delightful surprises, insights into Reality that appear unexpectedly in our lives. Inspired by Feng Shui recommendations for placing red in the home, I chose North/East. where I do my art and writing - above the computer and painting space: Northeast placement activates knowledge and intellect and stimulates learning and creativity.
I chose a favorite collagraph, "Printfish red," a South American image of the Blessed Mother, and St. Michael. for the center. Then on a whim, hung two of my favorite monoprints on the sides while not having consulted Feng Shui for these colors. I just like the artworks. Later I learned that black (Yin/water) encourages inward depth and protection. White (Yang, Metal) promotes clarity and openness.
With no more thought but the red to begin, I left the blessings to a Greater Power. The synchronicity came a few months later -White, black and red are the main colors of the clothes I wear most, and their meanings are very much "me" -Aquarian. But the surprise came when I looked at the titles: On the left is "Tempest," on the right, "Storm Break" the story of our journey from dark to light, 2016 to 2026 ("What Storm, Mr. President? ..."You'll see") In between is the spiritual journey to the Light. The Storm has broken now and the Light is a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds. This last sentence? Synchronicity as I write. : )
